Philadelphia is known as a “sport town” with many major league teams. The Philadelphia Eagles who won the Super Bowl in 2017 and the Philadelphia Phillies who went to the World Series in 2022 and as of this writing are the best team in the MLB.
The new padel venture involves the transformation of the abandoned Philadelphia Electric Company (PECO) power plant on the Delaware River banks. The new venture is named Ballers and will house many different sporting opportunities. Take this excerpt from the Vero Capital LinkedIn Page:
Much of the sports complex will be installed in the ‘Turbine Room’. This is the room that housed all the power generation turbines when the building was still operating as a power plant for PECO.
This location comes in addition to the 2 locations already run by Padelphia. One location on Venice Island and Another in Bala Cynwyd. This is just another example of the RAPID expansion padel is experiencing in the United States!
